Understanding Your Care

Please reach us at elizabeths@seedlingbloom.org for more information.

Direct Patient Care

In this model, the therapist's expertise is delivered directly to the patient or client.

  • Role of Therapist: Primary service provider. The therapist plans and executes the intervention activities.
  • Role of Patient/Client/Caregiver: Passive recipient or collaborator. The child is the focus of the session; the caregiver often observes or provides background information.
  • Intervention Setting: Typically in a clinic, office, or school.
  • Goal: To improve performance during the session and generalize those skills elsewhere.

Coaching Model (Concierge)

In this model, the therapist's expertise is delivered to the caregiver so they can integrate the intervention into their daily life.

  • Role of Therapist: Consultant, guide, and facilitator. The therapist observes, asks reflective questions, models strategies, and provides feedback to the caregiver.
  • Role of Caregiver: Active interventionist. The caregiver takes the lead in interacting with the child, practicing new skills and strategies under the coach's guidance.
  • Intervention Setting: Primarily in the child's natural environment (home, playground, etc.), using their existing routines and materials.
  • Goal: To increase the caregiver's competence and confidence, ensuring the child's skill development is consistent and generalized across all settings
